Dr. Mix graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009.  After veterinary school, she completed a 2-year small animal rotating internship and a 3-year residency in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at South Texas Veterinary Specialists in San Antonio, TX.  Prior to completion of her residency, Dr. Mix worked briefly in Primary Care private practice in Corpus Christi and Emergency Medicine in Houston, TX. 

A native of Dallas, Dr. Mix joined CVSEC in 2016.  The aspect of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine that Dr. Mix enjoys most is giving the most severely ill Patients a chance at survival and more time at home with their families.  Her professional interests include acute kidney injury, toxin ingestion/accidental drug overdose, traumatic injuries, and emergency surgery.

Outside of work, Dr. Mix enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, 6 dogs, and 3 goats.
